Branding In The Beauty Industry With Megan O'Brien
Wednesday Dec 02, 2015
Wednesday Dec 02, 2015
Meet Megan O’Brien. She is the founder of Beauty Brander, a full service marketing and PR company that specializes in beauty, beverage, lifestyle, fashion, and celebrity collaborations. Read ahead as she shares how she went from the founder of the #1 beauty review blog in the county to the founder of a successful marking service. Back in 2005, Megan launched the first makeup blog around, Meg’s Makeup. The idea blossomed when she realized that the only makeup reviews available were the ones coming from Amazon. Since then, she has gained over 10,000 readers and followers on her blog and has gotten to opportunity to meet and connect with some of the most elite beauty professionals around. Utilizing her talents, skills, and love for cosmetics she created Beauty Brander. Basically, if you have a product, an idea, or need any advice on how to improve your beauty creations then Beauty Brander is the place to go. From the concept, to copywriting, marketing, getting it on the shelves, or getting it on the air, this company can help you through it all. One of the most important advice Megan shared is that in order to have a successful product, make sure that it's a product that will stand out. People want something that is new to the table. A product she is currently working with, youthH2O. For those of you who have not heard about them, it is a one shot superfood drink that helps enhances hair, nails, and skin glow. It contains organic ingredients such as camu camu, a fruit with one of the highest vitamin C properties, purple corn that is packed with antioxidants, and maca. When she was first presented with this product, one of the problems they faced when marketing youthH2O was the taste. With time and collaboration, they were able to come up with its delicious new flavor, Blooming Apple, which is said to taste similar to Jolly Rancher’s sour apple. Megan recommends to mix the blooming apple with vodka and some ice to create the “youth-TINI.” Another product that Megan talks about is called VanishMax. It is known as the fastest weave removal system in the world because the string that attaches the weave is pear-based and can be easily dissolved with the supplemental spray. Find out more about Megan's tips to making it to the top, what makes her tick and her all time favorite quote by listening to her interview below. |

How To Balance Life With The Art Of Blogging With Zuma Ayriyan
Tuesday Oct 20, 2015
Tuesday Oct 20, 2015
It was a beautiful day in Costa Mesa, California when I got to sit down with Zuma Ayriyan founder of Splash of Teal, a fashion and lifestyle blog. I met Zuma at the Poolside Pretty blogger happening event here in Orange County. Her passion for blogging and drive to succeed as not only an immigration attorney but as a blogger was refreshing to hear and definitely inspiring. To have and hold the tools for becoming a successful blogger and balancing a traditional career are hard to keep centered. This is where I knew I should have Zuma come on my show. To share her drive with not only the industry baby bloggers but the dinosaurs of our era too.
During her days Zuma works as an Immigration attorney where she focuses on working with refugees and at night attends blogger events. As a blogger myself I know that one of the hardest things to do is not only get yourself to attend an event but then do the coverage on the event for your blog. This part - where inspiration and motivation gets lost is what we will be covering during today's interview. How do you stay motivated to cover events on your blog? Why do bloggers get lost somewhere between passion and purpose?
The lifestyle of a blogger can vary depending on what kind or type of a blogger one is, but the purpose remains the same. At some where down the line every blogger I have interviewed has had a drive, a reason to find that missing piece within themselves that allows them to connect with like-minded "socialites" and carry that moment with them online. There's an art and passion in writing and every blogger I know starts here.
For Zuma, she has found a way to meet herself midway and fuel her creative approach to life with blogging and fashion. Her key to success and motivation is just a click away. Listen to her stimulating interview below and find out how she stays inspired to develop her blog and carry herself to new heights.

Heidi Nazarduin: Blogging & Building Your Network
Friday Apr 24, 2015
Friday Apr 24, 2015
Heidi Nazarduin a socialite of Los Angeles, blogger, CEO and fashion icon. Heidi was recently featured in The Entrepreneur for her business ethics and time management skills. If you want to know how to blog and to build a strong network for success you will want to listen to what she has to say!
I had the pleasure to sit down with Heidi and talk one-on-one about the true work behind building an empire on and off-line while maintaining balance in life.
Like most entrepreneurs, their rise to success starts with humble beginnings and Heidi is no different. Before venturing into the world of fashion, Heidi was an investment banker. Her interest in blogging blossomed when she took a job as a fashion writer. However, Even being in the industry was not enough to garner her overnight success as a blogger. In the process of trying to find her way, Heidi was left with two failed blog attempts. Those setbacks did not hinder her perseverance, it made her even more determined. She quickly figured out, that if she wanted to make a name for herself in fashion blogging, she would have to set herself apart from the millions of bloggers. She narrowed in on her niche market-Fashion for the working woman.
With two failed attempts under her belt, she set out once again and launched The Ambitionista. This time, she understood who her target audience was and improved on her past mistakes. Within the first three months of the launch, The Ambitionista, was gaining a following and Heidi was able to monetize her blog, making roughly $500 a month. Along with the launch of her latest blog venture, Heidi began feeling a sense of loneliness. It was that feeling of loneliness and the want to interact with other fellow bloggers, that lead her to start her next entrepreneurial goal, BloggerBabes.
BloggerBabes did not only give Heidi the opportunity to connect with fellow bloggers, but it was a way to build a strong network of support. The Blogger Babes network of support consists of Meet-up, webinars, and a sense of community.
Today, the Blogger Babes community is made up of over 1000 members in Los Angeles alone. The mailing list includes over 5000 emails from individuals across the globe. For those who are interested in blogging, Heidi offers these pieces of advice.
- Identify your audience and have them included into your niche strategy.
- Stay consistent- There is no standard number for the number of times a blogger must post, but Heidi says staying consistent is important in building the trust with your audience. Consistency is heavily valued, but do not let the pressure of trying to stay consistent effect the quality of your content. After all content is what draws readers in and what keeps them coming back.
These tips along with many more are offered in the podcast below.
